Preparing for Show Jumping in Oliva Nova, Spain
Since arriving at Bosworth Meg’s timetable has been adapted to allow her to train 3 slots a week in the day time, alongside her weekend training and competing. This allows her horses a day to rest, and a day for them to be worked on by her professional trainer, so a perfectly balanced training regime for the horses and a suitable compromise to allow sufficient study time for Meg’s A-levels.
Last weekend was all about preparation for the big international tour to Oliva Nova in Spain during half term. Meg was extremely lucky to be offered a ride on the famous Capello, past winner of ‘Horse of the Year Show’ and is hoping to take this school master to Spain along with her own two horses. She has had incredible support from her trainer Jess Dimmock, and is very excited about the coming International Competition.
The horses depart Monday 16th October for the 3-day road trip to the East coast of Spain, there is an immense amount of preparation, but Meg is well supported by her trainer and by her tutors at Bosworth. Meg will follow on to join her horses in Spain the following Saturday and compete for half term week and the following 2 weeks before returning to Bosworth.
Armed with work from her tutors to ensure she stays up to date with her studies, and support on her return, Meg is committed to achieving in both her equestrian dreams and her academic career. For Meg being able to combine her equestrian passion with her a-level study is key, as she continues to go from strength to strength with her competitive riding. We look forward to updates from Spain.
