Diving into success
At Bosworth, we celebrate and support students with different artistic, academic or athletic abilities. Therefore, we are proud to share a story about our Year 9 student Tom and his great accomplishments in swimming.
Tom first entered a pool at age 3 and was able to swim under water by age 4, his parents recognised a great potential and encouraged Tom to join Northampton Swimming Club at age 7. Since then, Tom has competed in a number of regional competitions and has an impressive collection of awards and medals to show for his hard work.
Tom is in a full training programme and has nine 3-hour sessions per week, some of them starting as early as 5am. He swims all 4 strokes; Freestyle, Butterfly, Backstroke and Breaststroke. Tom is currently ranked 23rd in England for the 200m Freestyle and is aiming to compete at a National level this year. Tom’s ultimate dream is to compete at the Olympics.
We wish Tom best of luck during the busy competition season!
