Life in Northampton

Bosworth Independent College is located in Northampton, a town with a rich and distinguished history, situated in the heart of England. With London only an hour away by road or rail, and the UK’s other major university cities within easy reach, it is the perfect learning environment in a central location.

Northampton is a large market town with lots to offer in terms of tourism, entertainment, leisure, shopping and business and the town is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Because of its central location we are only an hour away from other tourist locations such as; Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Cambridge, Oxford and London. The College’s location, however, promotes focus on study as the distractions of a bustling city centre are not right on our doorstep. The Study Hall is!

Tourist attractions include; Formula 1 Silverstone racing circuit, Rockingham race circuit, Towcester racecourse, Althorp House (Home of Lady Diana Spencer), Premiership Rugby (The Saints), League Football (The Cobblers) and County Cricket (The Steelbacks). Within the cultural quarter, there is the Royal & Derngate Theatre, the Errol Flynn Filmhouse and Museums and Galleries including the Charles Rennie Mackintosh House (78 Derngate).

Northampton is one of the UK’s most enterprising places and currently Northampton has a series of major regeneration projects underway and these are grouped together under the heading ‘Northampton Alive’. Northampton offers the perfect environment for our students with the town centre just afifteen-minute walk from the College, where students can enjoy the leisure and shopping facilities.
