The study of Business and Economics is an essential one, because it examines the mechanisms that control and influence our economic well-being. It is important to know why governments introduce certain policies and to understand the outcomes they produce.
It is an exciting and dynamic field because the factors that influence business decisions are constantly changing. The internet, globalisation, environmental concerns, corporate social responsibility and improved technologies have changed the landscape in which business decisions are made. In an increasingly interconnected world, a good understanding of Business principles provides students with knowledge and skills which are in great demand in an increasingly competitive labour market.
Bosworth provides the ideal environment in which to learn and develop this knowledge. Students are encouraged not only to acquire knowledge; but also to analyse material and form their own views on the subjects discussed. Students with an enquiring mind are the best asset a teacher can have. From my perspective as a teacher, our small class sizes at Bosworth give me the opportunity to give each student a very high level of support.
